Safe Company brings a post-apocalyptic future to Pori’s shortwave radio station
Safe Company is a new site-specific work by Pori Dance Company, depicting possibly the last humans on Earth as they attempt to preserve and make sense of the history of lost life at an abandoned radio station.
The performances take place at Pori’s old shortwave radio station on 8–10.5.2026, marking 40 years since the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in 1986. Radio broadcasting at the shortwave station ended one year after the catastrophic accident in Chernobyl.
